About Valley Girl

Valley Girl was born from a vision to encourage other women in Christ who have walked through seasons “in the valley.” My hope is to remind those who feel lost, weary, or broken that there’s always purpose in the trials we face. Through my own valleys, I’ve learned that the One who leads us is always faithful. If there’s any comfort I can offer, it’s this: trust that God will never leave you in the valley. There are mountaintops ahead, and the preparation that happens in the valley is worth it.
I was born and raised in a literal valley (the Willamette Valley), but I didn’t grow up knowing the Lord. As a young girl, I experienced moments that felt like mountaintops, but when I first walked through a true “valley” filled with deep change and despair, I desperately needed guidance. The Lord reached for me—but instead of reaching back, I turned to the world.
For years, I moved from one valley to the next, living according to my own plans rather than trusting the path God had set before me. Eventually, life brought me to another literal valley (the Central Valley of CA) where my relationship with Him became like a teeter-totter. I often ran from where He was leading me because I didn’t trust where the road might take me.
Heartbreak, loss, trauma, and mental illness left deep wounds in my life. Yet through it all, God never allowed me to give up completely. Even when I entered the darkest and most destructive valley of all (the Valley of the Sun), when I felt ready to let go, He reached out with loving arms and called me home.
Since then, He’s been faithfully walking with me through every valley and leading me back to the place where my story first began. Now, we journey toward the mountaintop together—but this time with full assurance that He is guiding every step. Looking back, I can see how every hardship, every mistake, and every moment of pain had purpose in shaping the path I walk today.
I’m still on that journey, and through this space I want to share what God has shown me along the way—that He’s the lamp that lights our path. Healing is possible. Hope is real. And even in the darkest valley, God never leaves us in the dark.
He shines His light, giving us new purpose, new hope, and a new life.
You got this, girl. And He’s got you!
With love, B 🤍
